Back in April the football community was devasted by the loss of one of the most inspirational people in Wilf Saunders. Not only was Wilf the founder, chairman and treasurer of our league he was the complete heart of grassroots football & a true legend in every sense of the word. Without Wilf, football in Cheshire wouldn’t be what it is today, neither would half of our clubs, teams or volunteers. The impact he had on our community spanned decades; decades of providing local opportunities for anybody & everybody to get involved with the sport he, and thousands of others over the years love.

 

As a league we could never thank Wilf enough for all he has done for us. He was a mentor, a support network but more importantly a friend to all & we’ll continue to ensure his memory & values live on throughout everything we do.
